Clean Air Excellence Awards Program was suggested by the Clean Air Act Advisory Committee, a senior-level federal advisory committee that provides advice to EPA on air issues.

Clean Corporate Citizens Celebrate Longevity Awards - Michigan's Clean Corporate Citizen (C3) program is designed to honor and recognize businesses that have demonstrated strong environmental stewardship throughout their operations.

Leadership Awards - Each year, USGBC honors individuals and organizations whose vision, leadership, and commitment have been fundamental to the evolution of green building design and construction. 

Award categories are:

LEED™ – This award recognizes an individual or organization for overall advancement of the LEED Rating System;

Community – This award honors an individual or organization that is making a significant contribution toward extending the benefits of green building to a diverse community of practitioners and users;

Research – This award recognizes significant work toward the advancement of green building practices and technology through research;

Education – The Education Award recognizes an individual or organization that is making a significant contribution toward promoting sustainability in the built environment through education or training;

Advocacy – This award recognizes an individual or institution that is making a significant contribution toward the adoption of green building practices in the public sector;

Organizational Excellence – This award honors an organization that has demonstrated an overall commitment to sustainable practices and leadership.

 

Higher Education

AASHE presents four Campus Sustainability Leadership Awards, one Student Sustainability Leadership Award, and one Student Research on Campus Sustainability Award annually. The awards are presented at an AASHE conference or other major gathering of the campus sustainability community.

Excellence in Green Building Education Awards - This program identifies high quality, educational programs, integrating green building across curriculum to serve as models and a resource for other educators.

American College & University Presidents Climate Commitment

The ACUPCC is a high-visibility effort to address global warming by garnering institutional commitments to neutralize greenhouse gas emissions, and to accelerate the research and educational efforts of higher education to equip society to re-stabilize the earth’s climate. The group provides a framework and support for America’s colleges and universities to go climate neutral.
